Aaah, I see what you're saying now. You are looking at the slot the head of the eccentric bolt slides in, not the slot the bolt itself slides in. If you look at the slot the bolt physically passes through, you will see the inner bolts go up and down, and the outer bolts go forward and back. It's hard to visualise what the eccentric bolt does when you turn it, but when it's in front of you, it's very simple.
