Hi there I am getting to the part in my build where I am going to require a rad what is best to use in the e30? I have read about using an e36 m3 one but want to make sure it will be suffiant at cooling the m60 lump!

I run a e36 m3 rad, cooling is fine on road etc, I had a few issues when drifting, be it that is a massive demand on the car, and going sideways you dont get the flow of air.

Basically driving it a straight line, track, sitting in traffic it was fine.

The e36 m3 actually has a core thats around 10mm thicker, so the overall size between the two radiators isnt much. Also benifit of the m3 rad is it goes straight in, no cutting of rails needed!

If you are worried there is a couple of companies that can make a bespoke alloy rad. Something I will upgrade too

E28 rad and E36 M3 rad do fit, but at least here in hot Finland 8) they are not good enough - though that could be probably solved with more powerful fan..

Can anyone tell me does the 535 rad just bolt straight in?

Cheers Chris

I'm currently running re 318 standard rad, but I'm just trying to collect some parts before I start tearing the car apart. I was thinking I'd run re e36 M3 rad as its a direct fit, but wondered if tere was a benefit to running the 535 rad to be honest.

Cheers Chris.
