ive used sand paper to key the grills, then i used one layer of grey primer, then i waited for 45mins and sprayed 2 coats of satin black. however im seeing the black paint fading away in to the primer and its got like grey patches...what shall i do as i dont want to waste any paint, should i keep spraying more coats of satin black for the grey patches to go away ???

help.

once the primer was applied did you wet & dry it before painting satin black

nope i didnt but i thought the primer acts as a key for the basecoat so i wouldnt need to wet and dry it. ive done about 3 coats on it so far and its looking pretty good. will apply maybe 2 more coats then call it a day. to get that extra shine what can i add to it ?

wet & drying the primer will just give it a smoother finish,
it will probably only need another 2 coats, just give it time between coats,

let it dry off for a few days. stick it in the airing cupboard to speed it up ;) then sand down with 3000 grit wet and dry and a couple of light coats with gloss should do the trick.

wait wait...so you went for satin because you wanted shine?
Maybe it's only in the states, but we like satin because it's not shiny, more of an aggressive appearance. I think it relates to the stealth bomber look.
