Boring out centre hub on alloys....

Is it safe to do so within reason?

Current car's got a 59.1mm bore IIRC and it's proving difficult to find 'nice' alloys with that centre bore. Don't really want to fit spigot rings if I can help it to fit alloys with bigger bores.

Two different problems?
Hub on the car (57.1mm) smaller than the hole in the wheel = spigots
Hole in the wheel smaller than the hub on the car (57.1mm) = machine out the wheels

I'd probably end up boring the whole wheel

So is it safe to machine out the centre hole?

as long as it's not imparing your studs it's safe & pretty straight forward for a chap with a machine ya

Easy and safe but NOT diy, and machine shop will do this correctly and centred.
