the thin sheet in the bottom of the m50 sump and does the pick up just transfer across onto the s50 pump from the m50 pump

If it's a 3.0 litre S50 then the M50 pickup will bolt directly to your oil pump, if its a 3.2 litre engine you'll need the oil pump from an M50b25/S50b30.

As for the baffles: remove any that clash (not sure which ones that is now)

thats grand its a 3 litre so just swap the pickup over have a full m50 engine complete bought for conversion but head cracked so ill get the pick up of that

Is it from a 5 series? (you need the sump from the 5 series M50)

i didn't have to remove the baffle off the e34 m50b20 sump that i fitted to my s50b32

its a 525 m50 engine im taking the sump off and its going onto a s50b30

There seems to be a bit of variation in M50 sump design. Some people have to remove it, some don't. It's a while since I did mine, but I don't recall having one fitted.

If it's in the way, then remove it.

took the baffle out anyway no harm i suppose gave it a good pressure wash think ill fit it along with the m50 pick up tomorrow must tap it for the return pipe aswell
