i had a good rover coupe turbo, alot of fun.

never had one thing brake on it so not all are bad. history is important with them though.

seconded on the legacy, look like a hurse but there the fastest stiff shifter you will see, especialy if you get a b-spec.

Has to be the 200SX, however be damn careful when driving round a roundabout or turning on a junction. When the turbo cuts in at 3000RPM, you can very easily find yourself pointing where you were coming from...

I've got a 16valve turbo Fiat Coupe... had it for nearly 10 years now. Love it.
Gotta watch the cambelts, but thats true of everything really. They last longer on a 20V but cost more to replace (engine out according to FIAT, specialist indies cut a small hole in the inner wing).
Both engines are good for reliability only if they are scrupulously serviced. 20V like a bit of oil, and can crack their exhaust manifolds. Most will have been replaced by now.

16Valvers don't drink oil but can munch their cams if they don't get regular oil changes. Check the oil pressure gauge like a hawk. Anything less than 1.2bar on a hot (90deg water temp, its calibrated) idle and RUN away.

Its the minor bits that let go. Aircon, central locking. Otherwise its pretty similar to an E30/any older car. Wishbones, Brake lines and other wear and tear items. Geraboxes are pretty solid. Rust isn't that scary but they can go behind the front arches and check round the boot seals.

20VT is faster as standard, both can be tuned way beyond anything sensible in FWD. 20V tuning is pretty specialist, 16V tuning goes down the relatively well know Integrale routes. Don't dent the bonnet - they are NLA from Fiat.

mine used to do that a lot, tho mine had the standard 13" alloys, was quite a fun car but so unreliable, u would need Ã‚£2k spare just in case things went pop!
