Idle excitement!

My 320 D plate has jetronic injection but no ICV,and the idle speed has a life of its own....when its cold it fast idles between 1600-2000 revs and warm idle can vary between 800-1300rpm,it does'nt hunt and i have'nt found any split pipes etc so for so anyone got any idea's for me?

m10's which are also jetronic have something called an Air slide valve, this sometimes gets gummed up, try cleaning it with some carb cleaner.
Might as well do the whole intake/vacuum system as well while you are there.
