Paul, Isn't there a one piece version as well, which is quite a bit cheaper?
54 12 1 903 725, as opposed to 54 12 8 106 928 + 54 12 1 906 999.

Sorry to jump in ladz, after seeing loads of issues on the zone with sunroofs i decided to take a closer look at mine. on one corner where the rubber that goes around the sunroof dips in and therefore has not been water tight for a while. Some rust has started on the underside. Can you just buy this rubber seal? Is it easy to swap etc.
Much appreciated

The rust on the underside is arguably caused by the seal being too good. The rust is caused by condensation and insufficient ventilation. The seal isn't intended to be or required to be waterproof - just windproof.
For rust on the underside, take the panel off, treat and paint the rust, remove the centre felt pad, then heat the panel while it is upside down and pour on heated cavity wax.
Pour it in everywhere you can and tilt the panel to get it everywhere inside.
Turn the panel the right way up, and drain the excess wax out while heating the panel with a heat gun.
Clean off the centre area, glue the felt back on, and refit the panel.
Seal just 'rolls off' when the panel is off.

I've never seen a new 2,3 or 4 in the flesh, but the ETK gives the lengths of the above, and 3 + 4 = 2.
There's definitely no part number 2 fitted anywhere on anyE30 sunroof installation that I've seen.
