Andyboy, wouldnt you say the market for old bmw,s is fairly limited anyway? Think most people who matt black there cars are doing it to "old bangers" anyway and are just covering up a host of blemishes. True the market is a niche one but look at Munkys, imo he actually made the car look better, and iirc he had plenty of offers for his.
Now if this was done to car with faultless gleaming bodywork that would be a different matter, but a sub £500 smoker, where,s the harm? Vive le difference.

Satin black when done properly looks mint, I love it. If Munky didn't already have a matt/satin tourer, I'd have done mine already, but having 2 e30 tourers at TDSW the "same" colour would be a bit gay.

Harlequin is the matt back for 2008 ;) You heard it here first

Ask Spadge if he's going to satin black any of his. I doubt it. The market for a nicely done E30 Touring with an M50 2.5 is fairly strong. Matt blacking it will result in a car worth £500 at most.
Put it this way - I'm not matt/satin blacking mine. It would just be a really dumb thing to do to a half tidy looking car and sorry, but I don't need the attention from other road users or the psuedo 'respect', innit?

Personally wouldnt do it on my 86 cab, but my tourer is a different case and i certainly wont worry about any grown ups respect or lack of as long as its what i want and causes no harm.
