I'm really sorry to read this. It is a shame when people have accidents and don't leave a note. The problem is with the car insurance. People are too afraid to have to make a claim, in fear of their premiums and excesses going sky high, but that is no excuse for what they have done to your car.
I had an experience a couple of months after I had bought my car, I had left my car in a public car park to find that my car was in two parking spaces and was not even in the place that I had parked. Someone had rear ended my car and not left a note or anything. Add insult to injury, I even had a parking fine cos' my car was improperly parked. I had just got the car out of the bodyshop as someone had rear-ended me as I was stopped at traffic lights - at least I got the insurance work done on it. This was only a month before I got this done.
A years ago I had parked my car in a public car park only to realise when I got out of my car from the journey home that someone had keyed the entire car. The doors, the boot, the bonnet, the door handles, back of wing mirrors, everywhere and had scratched a nasty National Front logo in it too. I felt not only sick for my car, but also for having this logo scratched into my bonnet. The paintwork on the car was already immaculate. I had to get the whole car resprayed. I didn't think that my insurance company would do it - luckily they did. Just not completely resprayed around the windscreen.
