i was wondeing if you guys from the forum can give me really good tips for my bmw e30 convertible 318 on making the performance better due to me living in a area full of japs eveywhere such as subaru and that etc..i want to show how a german perform..
what is the best engine or is the existing one is good?
what to upgrade too?
what kind of exhaust should i get?
should i add throttle bodies?
get short shift gear box??

various engines available and many will argue whats best.

have a look through the engine swaps section and you will find loads of info and ideas :D

If you want to keep the 318i m40 engine I would bolt a turbo on it.
It also depends on how much you want to spend.

unless you bolt on a turbo or change the engine altogether dont expect to be showing any jap cars a view of your rear end in the distance unless the jap cars you mention are cars like micras ,yaris etc.
it all comes down to your budget.

Chris P has turbo'd a m40 (the same engine as yours). It'll give 325's more than a run for their money. Still no where near Scooby territory. Fuzzy has a mutant cossie in his touring. Ask how much he has spent and that'll give you an idea.

Although cabs are meant for cruising, not setitng lap records at Croft.

ok brilliant liking the tips please whats best thing to do i want to spend less then 3 grand on the engine department
how much will it be for a cossie engine?

whos the best place to do this conversion? due to im from sheffield...
what would it be if i just put a turbo to it what performance will i gain out of it and will it beat a 270 bhp scooby...

sell it buy an e34 m5 and watch them weep as it fucks on them as their chocolate cranks have melted and 4th cyl had cracked... once again!

how much does it cost to turbocharge a 318i?

and what engine is this big six? how much for that engine? how much much power does it have?

£3000 wont get you a cossie conversion. double that will will.just. but then you are in impreza and mitsu evo beating territory winkeye
