I thought crossing the rear straps only applied when using harnesses with non-competition type seats? (Not a good idea anyway, imo.)
how the hell did you do that?
In car video.

We hit a telegraph post sideways with the driver's door and it snapped, allowing us to roll over it. 8O The stump came through my window and pinned my chest tight against the seat. Hanging upside down, trapped and barley able to breathe with fuel splashing all around your ears isn't pleasant! (Damaged the filler neck, the fuel ran down/up the wing and in through the broken window.)

I honestly think that the seat rail saved me from injury. It pushed through the tunnel (despite a spreader plate) and it lifted the seat in a helpful way.

I've always used sill/tunnel seat rails and from now on, I'll use foam filled fuel bag tanks with roll-over valves too!

Lucky it wasn't an electric pole. Could have been a real good combination with all that fuel. Been to a lot of RTA's (usually on the A127 near Southend) and 75% have been fatal. Poles ain't that forgiving.

In Harlow. I'm down Rayleigh way quite a lot but unfortunately I'm not in work next week.Been searching home here but can't find it. Article was sponsored by Scroth so most of the info would be the same as in the link but I will try and find it. Its the one with the KTM Xbow on the front if you stumble across it.

I've always wondered whether it's worth having rollcage bars between the tunnel and the sill to stop the kind of intrusion that you've had in the E36. A bar down the sill and a bar down the tunnel with two connecting them underneath the seat would give you some more protection.
