ive been around knockhill circuit in a 550bhp 3 door(allegedly) but thought that it was tuner bullsh1t figures as although the car was quick it didnt strike me as 250bhp's worth quicker than mine. the car belonged to the 'specialist' that fitted my engine and he's well known in the ford community as a bullsh1tterKos wrote:big power naturaly aspirated is nice, i prefer it but it comes at a HUGE cost. i drove the V12 touring dips has, now thats mental !! its all about the torque and power delivary, not to mention the noise !![]()
build a strong YB, i've been out in a harvy gibbs ( it think it was them ) built real 400 bhp 3 door and that was plenty quick

i was quoted £12000 for a completely rebuilt, high spec ,balanced and blueprinted etc bench dyno proven 600bhp cossie engine iirc. bit to far for me tbh as i struggle to get the power i have atm on to the road in the slightest of damp conditions. fun thoughKos wrote:5 grand spent on your YB will make it strong, £5000 will not get you very far with the M5 V8.

thats the problem with being on Gods side of the border. proven specialists are few and far between.Kos wrote:go to know specialist, or spadge !!
does dips have traction issues with his high power e30's? how does he get the power down succesfully? or is it down to self control of the right foot?

I would much rather hear about the spec of a yb engine that can run 60 psi with no surge with anything larger than a cotton reel blowerdips346 wrote:i will give the number of the company that built it £2000 retailSPADGE wrote:4 bar yeah right Dips loldips346 wrote:ok the turbo cost £1400 but it can handle 60psi

why dont you buy a second hand cossie lump and build your own spec engine in your shed ??
will give you so much more satisfaction than shelling out money to someone else
and means you can keep your car on the road in the mean time.

defo with the YB i have seen reliable 500bhp and about 414lbs worth of torque.
and that was a monster. still returned some reasonable mpg too.
Fuzzy are you running stand alone ecu ???

fuzzy wrote:i vaguely remember you posting about this turbo when you first bought it and the £2000 retail price. wasnt it a roller bearing gt series turbo?
its a one off hybrid GT seris with roller bearing core, they are race turbo which come with no guarantee, however they are guaranteed to not blow ! go figuer that out ??
but having seen the way it boosts and the power delivary, virtually no lag and good throttle responce. so i'm getting one for the M3 !!

Your buying a 2k pound turbo?
You´r better of shopping around for something WAY cheaper that can provide the same thing.
