Found these three tech tours of racing M3s.

Some interesting things, including an output-driven diff oil cooling pump:

May have been posted before, but I searched and didn't spot anything...

Genuinely interesting, thanks for posting. Image

I'm never too sure how hot the diff oil gets back there. There was a comment on the 'extra dials' thread about having a sender and monitoring it - however I think that'd just make me paranoid about something I wouldn't otherwise consider. Image

diff oil definatly gets hot if you're giving the car a proper work out. just give the car a decent thrash then reach under and touch the diff casing!

the z3m used a similar rear diff, but had a different rear cover with a large finned section to help cool it, i think s14 200sxs and some of the skylines have proper rear diff oil coolers.

i know mine gets warm and stays warm for a long time as our cat loves snuggling up close to it!
cheers,

harry

I have a temperature sender on my M3 diff and in normal driving it never reaches the same temp as engine or gearbox even after 20/30 miles.
