my horn is neinwerkenfarten (not working!)...

the horn itself is ok (tested) and the connector doesn't seem at all corroded. the horn button is fine and the slip ring on the column is good. all fuses are ok too.

that leaves a relay possibly? i wnr to look in the haynes joke book and the index donsn't even have "horn" in it! nothing!

is there a horn relay and if so, which on is it? cheers

Fuse no. 7 (15A), relay K2

Wouldn't bother wasting time with the Haynes manual. Make sure you have an Owner's Manual/Handbook.

the plot thickens...

the fuse was not fitted (like this when i bough the car). when i fit it, i get a lovely horn blast when i turn on the ignition! not too amusing!!!

this is the same even when i swap relays... is there any other known weaknesses to look for? sounds like it could be a short somewhere....

Assuming the horn doesn't sound with the ignition on and relay K2 removed, you have a short to earth somewhere in the brown/yellow wire from pin 86 of relay K2 to the horn switch, or the horn switch itself is short circuit.
Remove the steering wheel to see if that stops it.
