All ready sorted Trevor winkeye

I like the stripes too, i am told it was the original main dealer optional extra with SE badges too, so late 80s early 90s but we like oldskool.
I am sure my dads old 528 SE had the same stripes on his back in the day, metalic bronze paint with brown stripes, sounds shit but looked good i think!
Only trouble is one wing has damage to the stripes so they gotta go, may retro fit though :D

No probs.

Remind me not to be available when you try and remove them stripes!! if they've been on since 91 (and I reckon they were a dealer option too) they'll probably be a bitch to remove I reckon. Also make sure that, if the cars had any bodywork, that some plum's not clear coated over any of it. Reason being, you'll be unhappily chipping / peeling it off and get to a point (usually half way along a panel!) where you can't go any further. Thats when you'll think "oh f*ck" and throw something at it!!!
We both know someone with a Tech 1 with that problem and I had it with an 83 Ghia X Granada years ago. Decided to remove the twin pinstripes as they seemed to clash! Got two thirds of the way round the car and that was it. Down the paint shop for replacement stripes and had to stripe the whole car again!!

Car looks clean though. Excellent in that colour too and with the sill extensions I like it a lot. Bargain of the century I reckon.

Cheers Trevor,
Must admit removing the stripes is a slight concern, even if they come off ok i am worried about the paint being too fresh behind comparied to the rest of the car. It has had paint here and there too so will just have to see what happens. I was thinking of using a hair dryer or heat gun to remove them then going over the whole car with an abrasive anti scratch compound.
Worst case if it all goes pair shaped will be to put some thick Hartge stripes on winkeye

Heat the stripes up with a hair dryer and they will come off.
