Had a conversation with a friend of mine today, who's friend's just opened a garage 5 mins from me. In said garage lies an e30 waiting to have.....wait for it........ a 420bhp tvr cerbara lump shoe horned into it. Anyone heard of this madness been atempted before? On completion, the cars getting stripped out to lose weight? as though there would be any power/weight issues???
Going down to see the guy later this week so i'll get some snaps if possible........insane

no shoe horning needed .Its basically a rover v8 engine.Quite light and compact, and can be very powerfull.Unless your talking of the straight 6 engine then my post is a load off bollocks

I thought the cerbera had TVR's own V8 as they sound gash compared to the normal meaty V8 on account of the flat plane crank, like the Lotus Esprit V8

From wikipedia - AJP engine
The name given to the British independent car manufacturer, TVR's own high-revving V8 flat-plane crank engine. The AJP8 engine or Speed Eight, a lightweight alloy V8, was designed and developed by engineering consultant Al Melling along with John Ravenscroft and TVR owner Peter Wheeler (hence the AJP initials). It appeared in the sublime 2+2 coupe, the Cerbera from 1996-2003 in two variants, 4185cc (360bhp) and 4475cc (420bhp).
edit - I did already know this but am too lazy to type it all :winkeye:

Yeh the 4.5 litre AJP8 engine is the 420bhp monster. I beleive it may require shoehorning as it has a massive (read:wide) inlet plenum with a huge twin (maybe even 4) fans and cooling/cold air ducting arrangement at the front of the engine. Also, the exhuast manifolds are huge!
Still, would be interesting to engineer a way around all the obstacles, what a mental conversion idea!
