A few people have had problems with power boost valves, E30adam had a nasty engine fire due to one of those.
Do a search and you will find a fair bit on them

Yeah I think I'll stay away from the turbos, I'm looking for a nice easy job.
@maxfield - What supercharger would you recommended?

Something like this:

On a more serious note i know nothing about superchargers.
A supercharger and turbo will both be as complicated as each other

TBh I'd say a turbo installation is far easier than S/c as the space issues are not as bad.
With a turbo the main hurdles are: Manifold, Downpipe and intercooler
Supercharger: Mounting it, drive to the pulley, piping to either an intercooler use a laminova cooling system (I have learnt something from appletree's thread
)
Turbo seems a much better way tbh

ya if it had'nt been for the lack of space and the fact that i did'nt want to pay the price for a one off manifold i think i would have gone turbo on my IS as for a 325 with less of a space worry i would depinatly go turbo although i see dips had a M90 superchargerd 325 in this months PBMW

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity
