dave , it was brill mate, im well chuffed with em and D.I.Y RULES!!

lowcab, the hanbrake shoes were the worst bit actually, coz the garage who did them last welded the pegs on, so it took a little effort to get them off

in fact there were soo many things i found that really made my skin crawl

like pads that were broken in half, or inner pads that were soo worn it was just the backing that was doing the work. wear indicators wrapped around susp. struts  and so on ...

anyway, i learned a good few lessons today, one being good tools (of which i have none) make all the difference

and never to trust a garage ever..eeeeeverrr

Glad to hear you sussed it and you're nearly 3 bigguns better off for it.

The trouble with garages is everything is done to a cost, when you sort your own motor you do it properly...

I've been slowly going through my car and sorting little niggles on it, it's the best way of getting to know your car.

You've just reminded me I've got to sort my handbrake shoes out some time, it works but it isn't 100%.
