m50 is in..not sitting on mounts yet but in..

i think one of my mounts might be inside out ..engine is very far over to driver side when close to mounts..

plenty of space for heater pipes..

Plenty of space for heater pipes = less space for steering shaft and exhaust pipes. There are various ways the mounts can fit in the subframe.

My notes (written a year or two ago) say: "LH mount is fitted reversed. i.e. stud in slotted hole and locating peg in round hole.
RH mount is fitted stud in round hole and new 10mm hole for locating peg drilled 17mm towards centre of car."
That was for standard M20 rubber mounts.

so an it makes absolutely no difference that it has a spare ecu slot???

1993 automatic e34 525 bosch is what it is/came from

anyone know how many sensors/connections should be on the e34 loom..no doubt there is one or two extra for the auto workings..plus i found an e36 325 in scrapyard but car is on floor(no loom init) so the owner said he will have it on its side for me next day..e36 325 prop and linkages=sourced :D

All the E34 looms I have seen have seperate auto box looms that simply plug in to the engine loom via a connector in the ECU/relay box on the drivers side of the engine bay.

Are you sure its from a 525i and not a 325i

@dan..i took it out of an e35 525 unless someone put it in to take the piss out of me

it had 2 "ecu" connectors on drivers side..one was for ecu other was for auto

so i presume i just carry on as if the auto connector isnt there..??????

i gonna try it anyway..that way ye will know for the future..i not lookin forward to matching the sensors up :? :(

Good looking project, really want to do mine now. How much longer do you think it's going to take you?

I'll be using the 318iS box and diff to make life easier.

If you trace the autobox loom it should come away from the main loom.

i had a look at it..there are 2 seperate "looms" for about 6inches then all the wires go into the one loom..would i be best off to wire it up and leave the auto loom alone or would i be better off to take it out....anyone have the pin and purpose for an e34 525 1993 m50 wiring loom??

thanks..

i iwll have to get an e30zone sticker for my car seemin as alot of info from here helped it get to where it is..im happy but still loads to do :D

Ive seperated a 328i auto loom from the engine loom, comes apart easily, only one wire left over that goes to the engine ECU and im yet to work out what it is for.

Ive not fitted it to an engine, I just wanted to seperate it all to see whats what.
I have heard that with the auto loom on a manual, (autobox ecu removed) the engine management light comes on. I was going to look into it to see what sort of signal the one left over wire gives to the engine ECU but never got round to it. I cant see it being hard to duplicate though, may even be as simple as an earth.

No, the 2 looms seperate from each other, I only cut the wires to draw them through the insulation.

Heres a pic I took of what I removed
