M20 turbo manifold

My turbo manifold finally turned up yesterday. Have not offered it up yet but it looks really nice. Total cost inc. postage and customs charges was
£249 which I think was a bloody good deal! For that price I wasnt going to mess about fabricating my own!

There are a couple of people running that manifold, IIRC oil filter needs rotating or remote mounting to fit it.

Ben, AKA Fowler has one, as does Kevin, AKA Midnight. Ants played with them too so may be able to offer some advice.

Holset HX35 fit these really well too

beg to differ Mark, Fowler has the proper manifold made from 2.6mm stainless, not the ebay copy.

Tee, make sure and wrap that puppy, they go almost transparent in use due to the thinwall design....

Good point, I do remember you mentioning Fowlers used much thicker SS in construction than most. Shouldn't be much longer till you get to show everyone what it looks like with a Proper turbo bolted on to it

How much did fowler pay for the proper one? I heard it was about a grand. Just interested ti know the price differance

It'd be worthwhile having it ceramic coated inside and out wouldn't it? You could wrap on top of that too..

willg here, if your bolting a turbo like a H1C or HX35 it would be a good idea to brace turbo to the point were it sits there without beign bolted to the manifold. Honda tuners have used manifold made by same people and alot of people have had problems with them, the ones who didnt said its becuase you need to brace and posted a picture of their turbo sitting there without a manifold there. you need to brace the turbo, do not brace or attempt to reinfore or brace the manifold becuase it will crack like that aswell. It will probly hold a small cossie turbo without any problems though

Incidentally, thicker material isn't necessarily an advantage on turbo manifolds as it extracts heat from the gas quicker than thin material would.

That said, it does need to be thick enough to provide mechnical support for the turbo.

Nothing wrong with a log manifold on a turbo car. equal lenght is not a requirement.

the BBR unit is spot on, perfect fit, superb quality.
