aren't u a little worried about boost distribution across all 6 pots, turbo plenums are usually tapered to try to keep flow even across all cylinders, u may find that the front few cylinders end up running lean and rears rich due to the distribution on that plenum!

Don't really know TBH. if there ends up being a problem, i reckon moving the plenum intake to the middle of the face (below the 'M') should help. Remember though that this isn't some little four pot running 2 bar of boost; at 1 bar, i reckon i stand a good chance of being ok.

aragorn - i'm not worried about anything to do with this engine. it didn't cost much and there are plenty more arpund if it does go bang :D

you magician you!
well done mate.
i'm sure ant will sweeten it up for you winkeye

a bar of boost with that engine, in that car?..............WOW!!

i dont think you'll have any issue's with being lean/rich between front/rear

at least if it does prove to be an issue and do some damage like melt a piston (£100 engine bill!!! :D ), whip the plenum off, move the inlet to the middle of the plenum, relocate the header tank and the jobs a goodun! not too much sweat in the scheme of things

Andy, nothing's impossible :D

plate took a lot of filing, the ports aren't perfect but they'll do.

Cheers Glenn

on 1 bar it'll probably be about as quick as your standard S62

gotta get the thing running properly before the boost goes up though!

Got this mapped now, courtesy of Ant yesterday. so after washing it for the first time in about 9 months i decided to take it out for a proper drive this afternoon.

verdict? well pleased :D

it's still a little shaky low down thanks to the throttles being a bit on the large side, but Ant worked very hard to remove various flat spots yesterday and it's very driveable on light throttle; with more time this should be possible to make perfect.

more importantly, on full throttle and at high revs it pulls noticeably harder than it used to, and sounds f**king cool under load in high gears 8O
throttle response is vastly improved over the single TB setup too. and apart from the thermostat which i think is sticking open, the shonky cooling plumbing is perfect.

have to say thanks (again) to Ant. it wouldn't be running without you dude :notworthy:

Fantastic, bet you are glad they sound better as you said it's the one thing you miss since sticking the turbo on

I can't wait for a ride in it, get it on the rollers again :)

Did you tweak the boost up ?

no, still 7psi mate :gay:

it'll go up eventually but i'm quite happy with it as-is for the moment, feels nice and quick 8)

Martin, i've just taken it out in the rain and can confirm it is indeed 'dangerous' 8O

going to have to bite the bullet and get some 16" wheels to put bigger brakes on too, shame as i really like my mim 15s

Gutted bout the loss of the 15" MIM's Toby! I love them on your car!!! What about the WMS upgrade? they can supposedly fit under 15" wheels..

Car is nuts now! Def think you should be turning up the boost a little tho n getting it R/R'd! Dont be a wuss  :P

In the meantime all ive still got the plumbing wiring n exhaust to do on my S50  *Hangs head in shame*

toby, do you have a spare mim wheel? i'd happily check fitting on my setup if you post it to me!!!? :D i promise you can have it back afterwards! :D

it's really down to the shape of the wheel... it will fit under a 15" BBS but mims have not been tried yet.

Just the four i'm afaid Gareth, the spare is a 14" bottletop

that's going to be fun if i ever get a puncture isn't it.

Rob, it's a volvo 740/760 petrol one. it's the taller version from a T3-turbo'd car, some of these volvos (the ones with a mitsubishi turbo) have a similar but less tall IC.

i had to use a 14" bottletop on the rear when i got a puncture... the others were 17" alpina reps 8O made for interesting rear steering under power!

next time you have a wheel off, if you knock up a carboard template of the profile of the inside of your wheel and post it to me or keri-wms we'll offer it up for you on my car and see how it compares :D
