About how much do these engines go for, M60 or M62?
I cant seem to find any second hand priced engines at all on the internet, are there any special B.M.W. breakers that might do one?
V8 engine prices??

That would be a better idea actually, how much did you get yours for if you dont mind me asking? Just been trawling some through of the posts and seen yours, looks very nice.
Was it difficult to fit?

That's well cheap!
Bloody hell you got lucky there, one hell of a engine for that price. Handy too with the manual gearbox, they're usually automatic aren't they?

Yeh, I bet they are. I'm looking at possibly doing this conversion as a trackday project in the near future. Was it difficult to fit the engine in, are there any modifications needed due to the weight of engine or is it just the usual wiring problems etc?

its a bit of a mare to be honest.
engine is huge in every way
brake servo needs to be relocated somewhere else on the car as there is zero bulkhead space
alternator fouls the chassis rail so you can either notch the chassis rail or fit a smaller alternator.
even with the engine mounted as low as poss it still sits up at the front so subframe spacers are needed to make it sit a bit better.
exhaust manifolds and exhaust need to be fabbed as well.
wiring is straight forward

Not so straight forward to fit then, it is a pretty huge engine mind. It's defnietly something I'm going to look at as a trackday project. Thanks for all the advice Bigdek, it's much appreciated, and fair do's on you for pulling off the conversion too. Take it easy.
