i dissagree with the fact that a trader is a moderator. and there is a dedicated part of the zone that one sole person is gaining profit from.

zone shop = zone profit

prices on the zone shop are not that fantastic anyway, just need to google the parts you want and generaly you can find them cheaper.

Correction - Not a Sole Person. Two people in Partnership who make XS Performance, a seperate entity to the Zone.

dude, as I have previously explained, Salman and Imran can "moderate" the shop forum only, and are not part of the Admin and Group Moderation team as a whole.

Ant wrote:without XSP or a group buy as propsed originally by Kos , that 15-20% discount is non existant, so either situation would save the purchaser some funds, all good for all concerned.
If you were involved in the original group buy, Ant, would you rather have had Kos's price of 20% off, or Sal's takeover price of 15% off? Agreed with your statement that they still have 15%, but they're still 5% down... I'd be p*ssed off too if I'd been involved.

Sorry to butt in everyone, the only ones to my mind who should really be commenting are the people involved in the original Group Buy with Kos. They are the guys who have lost 5% discount on their goods. But as others are having their say...

Right guys, I have spent god knows how long reading everyone's posting and believe I have understood the foundations from where this post has begun, or reborn from a previous post.

By taking everything at face value, it is clear in my mind that the entity that is XS Performance made a fundamental error in the choice of actions taken. That is a given.

However It was stated on several occasions, that an apology for the events being discussed was issued. In my personal opinion no one can do anything more than that gesture. That is having your hands held up and admitting you were wrong. What else can you do after thats been said? Its an end of the line situation in my eyes.

I believe XS Performance 99.9% of the time have the members best interest's at heart. Why would they do product testing to promote whats best for us performance wise, price wise? If they didnt care, they would sell anything and everything like a Demon Tweeks catalogue.

Im not naive enough to think that everything i buy im getting the best deal for. Im sure im getting a good deal, but price is not always the overiding factor in choice when purchases are to be made. And if you dont agree with that, thats fine but in a sales oriented world there are other factors that are contributing drivers to selling products.

With regards to it being unfair to have just one represented parts trader, if the Zone open it up to others, it is most likely going to become a free for all. Which is why for good reason blatant trading is not allowed. Just look at virtually every other forum out there, not just for cars, their terms and conditions state no trading or your will be banned/suspended.

So why should we soley have XS performance then? He got there first!! Im sorry if that doesnt wash but its true. Sal's been around since things started, and has made big in roads to get where he is today. Businesses like this dont just pop up over night.

If your not happy with the products stocked and you think you can get a better deal elsewhere, its your right to shop around. I do it all the time, as do most people. Thats business.

At the end of the day you can please some people some of the time, but you cant please all people all of the time.

Mods, maybe you should do a vote with a selection of ideas on the trading side of things and get a view of the members perception on how they would lie to see things go.

Some of this post may actually have wondered into foreign territory, but the thread is soo long i've lost my way a touch!

Vive Le Zone!!

Now, In an affort to refer this thread back to what shall now be known as 'The Great Rollcage Fisaco of 06', had everyone excerised some of Bob Marley's peace and iree wisdom, perhaps everything could have been sorted before the madness kicked off...

If it meant it stays around and get's better...

think we llready had on a while back, interestingly mods were as against it as normal users and they pay for the zone out of their own pockets.

Money could go toward a lot of cool things for the zone.

A full time dude to service the site, faster/bigger hosting etc.

Anyway, that's of topic...

What has been done has been done.S**t happens.Sal has apologised(spel ceck)I feel that A zone shop, run by the zone, for the benifit of the zone, would be an asset. Not too certain if this should be a part of Sals current business or acompletly different set up,perhaps using Sals skills and contacts in some form as a consultant?I would be prepared to pay an annual(spel cek again)fee in much the same way as I pay one to the Daimler and Lanchester Owners Club Ltd.This zone is a fantastic site, lets settle this matter and move on to the important things, like keeping our E30s running.

I really like this site and would be prepared to pay a (small) fee. I worry that this would reduce dramatically the number of users posting here though and I wouldn't enjoy it is much if there were only the same few posters contributing. The sheer variety of points of view and approaches to E30 ownership, from the likes of Jon, MFree and others with their immaculate M3s to erm, others, with, erm, rather less exotic cars is why I read this site every day so I hope whatever is decided won't detract from the site and if it does the mods will keep it all under review.

Long thread. Having briefly read it, I only have a short lunch, I think that maybe in future if there is to be a group buy, then maybe the shop should be given the opportunity to better or match the intended discount. This way the members benefit and so does the sponsor, assuming of course the shop sponsors the Zone which I expect it does.

By the way is Mfrees car finished yet?
