Cars you've given up for an E30?

I got rid of a VW Corrado g60, it had a chip and pully kit on it so went really well! Faster than the 325, but fancied ago with rwd, then found the bmw. Not quiet got the hang of drifting it yet, need more pratice and a lsd. Still have ago though, even if i do end up facing where i just came from sometime's 
I sold my Mazda RX7 twin turbo to do my 335i conversion which I thought I'd invented until I found this site after I'd started doing it! 
Fantastic car but an average of 12mpg on super-unleaded put a downer on it!

My first car was a e30 323i and i gave that up for a mk 1 astra sr 
Couldnt afford to run the 323 and it went down hill from there

And I had a few tanks of fuel average less than 10mpg!
That's a £70 fill-up to do about 170 miles!
And I never even got it on a track - too scared of bending it!
BMW straight six engine sounds better though, so it's not all bad!
My 335i is getting 18-20 mpg around town and 27mpg on a long run too!

Also, I did the conversion all myself so I kind of have a lot more pride in this car, knowing that I put it all together and made it what it is and how I wanted it to be (within my budget of course!).

You should take your motor to a trackday, do one at an airfield and you have nothing to hit.

I know Castle Combe and Goodwood quite well too so I haven't got any excuses not to track it, apart from having no money!

I'm probably rubbish at it too (despite my misleading screen name!) - all the drifting I've done is driving like a hooligan on the road when there's nobody around and empty car parks and stuff. Love to have a proper go in a wide open space, preferably with experts / instructors on hand to guide me.

I've had a few interesting moments over the years too. My 335i is happy to wheelspin, purely on the throttle, at about 65mph in third gear in the wet sometimes!

Before the corrado i had a rover 420 turbo( don't laugh, 200bhp 4 £750 Bargin) that would hit 65-70 in 2nd on the limiter, if wet and you pulled out of a juction up a hill and give it abit in 2nd it would just spin up to limiter no prob's. The car was prob only doing 30-40 mph though. Mind you that's in a straight line, i can imagin your's being quiet entertaining when leaving a corner not thinking!

And yes, mine can get a bit lively if I'm not careful. But I like it that way!

Gave up a Series 2 RST for my current car and never looked back...
The Turbo was a minter tho' 49k fsh, totally original, not a mark anywhere, it was bought from a Renault dealers it was the only non-franchise car they had there too at the time...paid good money for it too.
