I have used in the past, a metal filler that you can get from a hobby shop, it is used on railway track connections a bit like liqued metal you are able to mould it then sand it down hth

try quick steel mate, under a tenner a tube, dries rock hard you can drill and screw into it and also sandable.
only tip i can gan give i mix the to dough's as best as you can before it starts to set.

Quick question: once it's set, how does it look? Matt? Shiny?

if there not to bad you can sand them ou twith 240 grit
