would it be better to go direct port (drilling manifold and fitting 6 jets)
or fit a single jet into the inlet hose
+ the fuel jets
also how much would a std engine take?

Direct port is always better, but a single jet can be used if your keeping the power increase small.
How much power were you thinking?

the above obviously depends on the condition of the engine etc,

I'm with Fuzzy on this. I would love to install a kit on both my cars but scared i'm might lose them. Can anyone actually assure me that NOS is all gravy?

There's no real point in using NOS with N/A cars is there? Just seems to work really well with turbo's......

on the contrary my good man, a lot of people in my drag racing fraternity including me, that have built there engines solely to run with nitrous, plus a lot of people use nitrous with turbos as a means of simply reducing intake temp and detonation. nitrous is awesome on a normally aspirated engine when it is set up properlyThere's no real point in using NOS with N/A cars is there? As said before, a poorly setup NoS system will cause the damage.....
I have come across some "NoS Experts" who have never heard about NoS/Fuel delay.

Good Forum over here http://www.noswizard.com
Im going to be throwing about 400bhp down the throat of mine when Ive finished the build....but then again the engine is 8.2 litres

Wizard of Nos site is good for all Nos related stuff + i rate solenoids over NOS stuff
single kits are good for small hit 50 MAY BE 75 , , but will not give even mixture into each cylinder, ie some run rich others lean , lean can do BIG ENGINE DAMAGE (ideally u want to retard the timing too)
INSTALLED AND SET UP CORRECTLY ITS GREAT
6 PORT KITS IF INSTALLED AND SET UP WELL will give correct mixture to each cylinder and has big bhp scope for future but for big hits u need to retard the timing 2 to 6 deg dependant on hit and use progessive controllers etc to be safe , ring lands on pistons are normally the weekest link an bend down traping rings and then Blown eng results

gotta look at it this way, if the engine does go bang isnt it the best excuse to tell the missus you need a bigger engine installing and all get 2.7-3.5 projects on the go lol? you can always take you kit off and have it set up correctly this time on the new engine.
or do i just have a badly nagging missus?

Yep ,
do nt u just love wiping more exspensive stuff , Nos is ideal for that out the bends etc shot , but never hit mine with out at least 3000 rpm as i ve blown a few doing it sooner
Cadwell park, IMHOthe best cct in the UK,
That M3 loved his comfort braking

the mk2 escrot was running a 250 bhp vauxhall XE engine
if looking for a nitrous kit only get WON kits from trevor at wizards (doncaster) and visit his site for help.
providing you use a controlled sysyem a bottle heater and make sure you fuel pump and ign components are spot on you will have no problems. Set the car up on 25bhp jets drop 1 cooler on your plug heat range for a 50hp increase 2 for more and away you go
1/2 engine hp is always safe on the nitrous increase. my mk2 is running 75hp N and 50hp fuel uncontrolled it kicks ass. wen my controller arrives my 75bhp jets are going in.
