i think it's chain rather than belt, unaware of any other issues :?

IIRC they are forged and the stroke is 82.8mm.
It will need some machining to fit M20, but it's doable, because i seen few e30 here arround with this crank.
Anyway, i heard that 2.5TDS crankshaft sometimes break in two pieces, also and 1.8TDS .. Dunno why :?
I think M52B28 crank is better choice, 84mm stroke, forged, and i never seen any broken.

Interesting to know about the M52 crank, and the TDS cranks breaking :(

Would prefer not to go too far away from the standard M20 stroke though as it's likely to mean fitting shorter rods.
