lowering just the front will not affect the handling that much (in fact lowering the rears leads to excessive camber and probably worse handling without eccentric bushes etc)
also lowering on just springs will move your standard shocks out of their ideal performance range (they normally operate best in the beginning of their travel and by lowereing you loose this) so shorter shocks are better in conjunction with shorter,stiffer springs.
BUT.... it really depends on how you want the car to perform.... looks and being able to see a bit more of your legs in your chrome wheel arches
then springs are ok..... if you do some lively driving and even occasional trackday then springs alone will proabably make the thing handle worse, springs and shocks will be better.
FYI when i dropped my cab on springs only the rear did not change by more then about 10mm, i used 40mm PI springs all round as they were the only cab specific i could find when on hols, been on two years and the paint has not yet even come off, but our climate is a bit more friendly than yours. I dont do any twisty driving so i wanted a low look not a better set up, hence why springs alone were ideal for me (plus BA gett annoyed when you try to check in with shock absorbers in your bag, they are classed as dangerous items as they are pressurised
)
40mm drop... (but i cheat and put it in drive with handbrake on to get the rear to squat a bit more
)

think this one is normal (i.e. not in drive)

I told you this yesterday
- get the AVO 10-007 kit - it drops the front more than the rear; handling on standard shocks is still very good (for a fat cabbie), and if you really really don't like it, you've spent 90 GBP which you can probably get back on Ebay
here's that rubbish picture again - on O/E springs I could get 4 fingers in the front arch above the wheel - with the AVO springs I can get 1 finger in

Just get the H&R cupkit, you tightwad.
You know it makes sense .. slightly lower nose and you will corner faster than most out there.
Just do it.

So you have noticed the pattern too ?
I'm sure you'll appreciate a good suspension tweak !!
Keep up the good work, matey.

don't forget my shocks were/are low mileage - I don't know how many miles your cab has done, if yours are original etc etccliffybabe wrote: I'm gonna go for Mr Currys suspension setup on my cab, so fingers crossed all should be cool.
I really wanted the Hartge setup, as I reckon they know what they are talking about, but when I found out the unfitted price of 800 notes, the AVO springs were a way of getting the ridiculous ride height down at the front cheaply, and ASAP.
One day I will fork out for a complete suspension replacement, but nothing has broken yet, so it can wait.
No point in chroming the springs - you never see them.
Your posts always end up 'a joke' because we genuine professional posters assume we must be on a 'Pub talk' thread if you started it
