i got a 325i and it was going to the nurburgring if it was going to kill me OR IT or not.
ok i had the following problems one of you guys helped to solve.
it cut out randomly , but i changed the dme relay and hoped it was this ,( but this was the problem( but not directly) it wasnt getint power to it so we closed the contacts and put it back so it was always on, in the end it was a problem with the ignition barrel wireing,

the second problem witch happened at the end of the day of leaving to the ring was . a missfire :( . i nursed the car to dover in hope to get it sorted in germany or borroro a car all ready there.

BUT the missfire stopped as soon as we got in france :D weired!
i lost 2 liters of oil at the ring, a couple of resoivour bottles of water, broke 2 engine mounts ,distroyed a pair of ferodo ds 3000 pads and coz of the mounts done the fan shroud and we think the viscous too. oh and the steering uv joint witch touches the 6 branch of a hard left lock.

i raced hard and fast with the only problems beeing fuel surge(when getting to 1/4 tank ish and at one point lack of oil surge but filled oil as soon as this happened .

but 1670 miles later in england the missfire started again!!!!!

this is puzzeling , the only thing i can put it down to is short journeys!
its a engine load missfire at high speed eg 4th 5k 6k or 5 th at 4k plus :?

any ideas ive run out!

Was this your first time to do the ring? What was it like? Jeremy Clarkson looked scared the time he had the jag on it, but that was probably just playing to the camera.

Buy Grand Turismo 4..... you won't look back! The Nurburgring is mapped very accurately apparently, I love it although it can be very tricky to get round without leaving the black stuff.....which you have to do for the liscences.

kevin the ring in the game is nothing on REAL life, its amazing but i cost a few grand if you crash , and i sore a lot of crashes, watched a rare e30 tourer without a sunroof stack infrount of me in the wet. i loved evey minuet . but its a drug. i need more !
jeremey spent 2 days solid learning the ring i didnt but i did better than him in my 325i
iam going in may 14-16 if anyone wants to meet us there !

You can't get the feel of the Ring from a computer game.
I've never experienced a road like it - blind corner after blind corner, adverse cambers, twisting one way then the other. The only bit I got half right was the Caroussel, awesome. I knew exactly what Clarkson meant when he said "will it ever end".
Only did one lap, then it rained. Came back the next day - still raining. Rained for three weeks. (Last August).
Can't wait to get back there for a proper session later this year.

I appreciate that the computer game can't replicate the shitting your pants feeling as your headed toward a blind corner at 120mph! However, although I've never been on the ring for real, I am assured that the computer game is accurate in almost every detail......and the main Nissan test driver was within something like 8 seconds when he did a lap in a Skyline on the game (when compared to his lap times in real life).....he is apparently an avid fan of the game so knows how to drive on it.

Again, I realise that the fear factor and potential high cost isn't there but I recon it's a damn good alternative for those that can't make it to the ring for real, or for those that want to learn the track before a visit.

Probably very good for learning which way the track goes next over the next crest, but you don't get G forces on a Playstation.
Get yourself there for real. I've never seen so many BMWs, bikes and cars, together in one location.
