I am hiring a special tool to remove and replace the above bushes. According to the tool hirer I should get a bmw lubricant/sealer called circalite which once dry bonds the bush into the carrier.Does anybody have the part no. for this?My local dealers parts dept are not very helpful.
Thanks.

Appreciate your advice Stu,but would still like to get the right stuff if it even exists, which I doubt. The idea of a product that actually welds the bushing to the carrier appeals to me and seems like something that BMW would think of !

it doesnt actually do what this guy is suggesting! it merely allows lubrication into the carrier, and then dries up all tacky, so that the bush wont move. but, when the whole setup is put together, it wont move anyway
if it were to actually 'weld' it to the carrier, you'd have a bastard of a job trying ot get it out again...
