:? Hi people, got a 325 tourer with ABS problem. At low speeds in traffic etc i apply brakes to stop and just before ,ABS judder will kick in.Not good as it can carry on for two to three feet.Try this doing a three point turn in a town road,i,ve nearly come close several times. After this ABS light will come on and brakes ok.At high speed brakiing is fine with or without light on.What do i do.Can ABS be deactivated by removin something.I just dont want to be stung by a garage for them to say its the pump at fault when it could be eliminated.Cheers anyone.........

These are the exact same symptoms of my problem that I had 2 years ago. The problem was a faulty sensor giving the wrong readings. You can test the resistance of the sensors with a voltmeter, they should all be about the same, any variations and the sensor will need replacing. You could disconnect on abs sensor and i think this will deactivate the system.

I know what you mean about it being dangerous it just feels like the car wont stop, well it doesn't it just makes a crunching noise and doesn't do a lot.

So i think have a look at the sensors first then the relays and then the ECU.

2 cents
