ok i cant compare it to a 318 or 325 as ive never been in one BUT i think the 320 is GREAT!! its a lovely drive but havent given it any boot yet, saving that for tomorrow

all i can put it down to (from snippits of info i have seen on here) is that mine being an 88 facelift is mapped to run a kat which it hasnt got... so is lean in the mid range and fuel's properly again above 4K

It's all to do with the ports being too big. That's why the 'head deosn't really need porting when it's used on a 2.7 bottom end, they're plenty big enough to cope with the extra 700cc's.
BTW, nice car Mic. 4-door too!
Enjoy it. This is why I no longer drive an E30......
