how do you know if your bushes are gone?

i have just bought a jemax -40mm drop suspension set up and plan to fit it this weekend.

thing is, i have been assuming that my strange lift off over steer is mainly down to warn shocks, springs etc and could it be the bushes?

how can i tell? feels like the car twists slightly but dont know if that is my bouncy, dead shocks?

bit of advice would be nice so i have a good idea of what to look for wheni take teh suspension apart.

also how long does it take for the springs to bed in?

cheers.

When the bushes are shot your car develops a case of what my girlfried calls "swingy hips".
Apart from that I guess you're looking for play in the joints.

Jack it up on the rear axle and see if it's bushes drop noticeably, eg. if the axle raises right up to the bodyshell, they are definitely shot!

Personally I'd put standard bushes in.

Bit of a lousy job requiring, besides normal tools, a press, a gas torch, a lump hammer, a friend and patience.
