Hello,
I'm (slowly) progressing with my MS install - intially going N/A with a view to turboing maybe over the winter. My first question is should I fit bigger injectors now or wait until I turbo? Can I get a set that will work well for both so I don't have to buy 2 sets?
Secondly, can I keep the dizzy or should I be looking at fitting a coil pack? Is there a suitable one around?
Cheers. James

keep the dizzy as is for now James, works sweet with MS, makes the build easier too mate
you're OK with the stock inj or now too mate, the PWM % will indicate whether you have enough flow long term though.

I'm inclined to agree about the distributor. If it aint broke, dont fix it.
If you really want to go to a coil pack I personally think you should go for a ford 6 pot edis setup acompanied by a ford style crank position sensor.

Thought MS could directly control a coilpack without the EDIS stuff?
Personally reckon that if you can at some point upgrade to a coil pack, especially with a turbocharger installed, it's a worthwhile mod.
With coilpack ignition you should get a much fatter spark than is possible with a single coil which means you can run a bigger plug gap which in turn should lead to a more complete and efficient burn, the need for less ignition advance and so help to reduce the likelhood of detonation.
It's win win really!

I'm not up on Megasquirt these days... I looked into it a while back to fit some bike throttle bodies to my 16v Golf but that was an age ago.
If it can control a coil pack without the EDIS, that's excellent!
I agree with all your points about the advantages too, I just suggested start with the distributor at first as to reduce the number of un-knowns when installing..
Incidentally, can MS run a bank of 6 direct fire packs (a la later beemers)?

im not sure how many drivers MS has, i know you have 6-8 on vems but you only need to use 3 on m20's, no need for CDI unit and dissy, i have 3 of these coils im fitting
