Ok yes I feel very stupid but need help. I have locked my only set of keys into the boot of my covertible. Can get into car on drivers side etc but keys are locked in the boot.

Is there any way to get into the boot in a cab without using a scewdriver and hammer and breaking the boot lock???

If not what is the best way of breaking in????

Cheers.

Dealer can get you a new key from the VIN, locksmith or local equivalent of the AA, or destroy one of the rear light clusters and reach in.

Would it be easier / cheaper to destroy the light cluster than break the boot lock?

You're less likely to suffer collateral damge if you go in through the light cluster, as long as you're careful!

There was footage on TV a while ago of a couple of police officiers breaking into an E30 boot. Car didn't look pretty afterwards.

So its not going to be easy then but the rear lights sound like a good option, its a pity the car is in a busy car park!

you can have the lock in whats known as 'chauffer position' where you must have the key to unlock it!

Ring a mobile locksmith - it'll be the easiest in the long run and they'll be in the car in a couple of minutes

put a chisel in the lock and hit it with a bloody big hammer

in theory this should kill the barrell and pop the spring off the back and you should be able to open
heard this recently but havent tried it myself

last time i had this prob i had to cut the boot lid in half to get in
even that was a bloody nightmare as e30 bootlids are a lot thicker and stronger than ya think
