its a twat of a job.
I'd pay a garage if i had to do it again !!
WD40 every thing a few days before you start and be prepared to be off the road for at least 2 days.

Is it an early one? If there's a squiggly pipe joining the two halves of the tank at the bottom, make sure you've got one on the new tank - it probably won't come off the old one.

Also; don't smoke.

Altogether, it's well known as a shitty job. All the best then!

You live in a salt mine? I've never had to wd40 anything in advance, although a little helps on the day.
It's an easy enough job, although the luxury of a four post ramp helps.
Disconnect pipes/wires under the inspection covers under the back seat, and the pipes in front of the left rear wheel arch.
Remove rear of exhaust, heat shields, centre prop bearing and rear of prop, then it's just one nut and four (?) bolts.
Check/replace rear steel brake pipes while it's out.

it looks an easy enough job to me, probably just a case of getting the car nice and high on axle stands to make life a little easyer.

:snigger: No salt mine but it does stop bolts snapping clean off when you undo them.Theres nowt worse !!

The fixing hole for the in tank high pressure pump is the same as the old type transfer pump, if that's what you mean.

I just did know if I could convert to the later tank with the fuel pump in the tank.
