what kind of things are you looking for mate? bolt on parts? or parts for a full rebuild? theres loads of stuff out there for these screaming 4 pots!

Well if your after afew bolt on bits then id say get a free flow filter and exhaust and a good setup on some rollers.

If you wanna go for a full rebuild then find yourself the crank and pistons from a 2002 2.0l m10 and rebuild the engine with them. stick on a 318i head with a nice cam and it'll make a wicked little engine. You can go further for more power but it depends what your budget is.

is the bottom end the same on the 316i and 318i engines? if i use the head can i still run the carb set up? as i want twin 45s in the end?

the bottom end is the same on the 316 and 318i (both 1766cc), there was no 316i m10 in the e30. The heads are different with the 318i having bigger valves.
