Hokay ladies & gents, can anyone clear this up for me? Basically I want to fit a TB from another (later) m20b25, to my (pre facelift) car. There's a couple of differences in the pipes that connect to em, so I just want to check what I need to do the swap... & should I connect the coolant pipes together to bypass the TB too?

Oh, and is there anything wrong with running a BBTB on an unchipped car or should I make sure I get a chip in first?

Ta muchly :thumb:

Ziggy,

you see the water pipes marked in red, when you change over the TB you can join these together with a little bit of pipe inserted in to them, they dont do anything apart from circulate in the TB from the thermiiietwat and the block and all there doing is heating up the TB for no reason what so ever,

(and a bit of inside info on the BBTB your getting) that side is allready blocked off nice and neatly, so you'll have to join the pipes anywhooo

the vacume pipe on the right, marked blue, im sure you can just change from going from two pipes down to one, with no diffrence to the car at all,

and the chip thing, a just dunno, just send the BBTB to me and i'll test it on a chip winkeye

Both Tb's pictured are rom a pre facleift car so no issues there apart from the extra vacuum feed, just needs blocking off, or the correct N.R.V fitting to suit the new home.

The BBTB will look after itself in normal driving , the AFM will respond to the bigger "suck" and open further to match the increased airflow, only slight worry is @ WOT it could be a little lean, but most are too damn rich there anyway( to be safe) fit it, enjoy it, then chip it to maximise the response gain Ziggy.

Nice one guys - I'll get the chip ordered too, just didn't know if it'd run horribly lean in the mean time! :thumb:

And cleeeear...........zaaaaaaaaaap __/|____/|____/|____/|____ - this thread is back from the dead winkeye

Got an unmolested TB that i want to put on my 2.5 in a attempt to get it running right

My current TB has an L shaped ICV with 2 pipes running from the TB to the brake servo, one plugs back into the AFM to TB rubber boot, like in Ziggys top picture

The spare i have is as in the 3rd picture, one pipe to the servo and a T shape ICV.

Whats best to do, run one pipe to the servo and block up the hole in the rubber boot or get a T shaped ICV?

How come some have two pipes to the servo and some only one?

Cheers :thumb:
