Hi guys,

Over the past year the rust on my e30 has got pretty bad and now i think its time to sort it. The only problem is on the rear, wear the mudflaps attach (below bumper), its really bad and the metal is coming off in my hand.

Im not sure how to sort this because of the location, and im not sure whether i can get a replacement panel or something.

Any ideas or tips would be superb

Cheers
DAN

pics would help
but if metal is actually coming of in your hands it aint good.
you will need to get this cut out and even a few mm of good metal to so ytou are sure the rot is stopped. get a nice new plate welded in there.
shouldn't be to pricey as access is ok in that area so labour aint too bad
you'd be surprised what a good panel beater can do.
try and get a pic up but i'd say thats the only route,

Righto, only thing is though im trying not to spend much on it at all, the car isnt worth much anymore (1984 on 168000 miles) so if it works out to be pretty pricy, might have to say goodbye to a nice looking e30 :-(

What sort of price do you reckon for welding plates on there and such like?

I am in ireland prices are different - and they vary beater to beater too - and so does the quality....
depends what sort of size area we're talking and spraying too.
perhaps someone from the uk will know...
