Hi guys,
I've searched a lot of technical forums but unfortunately I still haven't been able to solve my convertible problem.
I bought my 91'er convertible without a working folding top. The levers were detached and everything was delivered in a box.
There is another topic on this forum wich helped me alot, but still I'm having one big problem: The lid. The electric lid makes a ticking sound whenever it has to work hard (ie closing the clid and opening it) I'd like to operate is, but i cant remove the levers wich operates/seals the lid. I removed the screw but still I can't get it out. I need to remove them in order to remove the lidmotor.
any ideas?
Thnx in advance,
Koen

I am sorry to say that you need a new flap motor ...the one thats situated in the middle..it has stripped some of the gears internally they can be repaired if you know someone CHEAP but it is usually cheaper to buy a new (secondhand ) motor...i had to

hello there hope this may help you a little me and my mate had this problem last week when we were fixing his hood we took off the motor and turned it by hand then it started to slip . looking at it i saw the frame was bent a little so i then drill a hole fitted a m6 bolt and nut . we then dun the nut and bolt up this allows the gear box + motor to clamp together better when tested it worked fine and touch wood is still working no clicking noise . so try this first as its cost free hope this is a help.

Hi there!
Thnx for the posts. Though I still haven't been able to remove the hood lever. I've found the numbers of the items on this link:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=54&fg=10
I can't remove the levers (#4 and #10). I have removed the screw but still the things are stuck as hell.
Has anyone any idea how to solve this puzzle?
Thnx in advance guys!

there is an allen key bolt that goes in there. If you have rounded the head off - then get a torq adaptor slightly bigger then the allen key head and hammer it in.
I had to do this to change my #4!
