Well yesterday fitted the H&R cup kit e46 m3 rear top mounts , Front lower arms , front top mounts and drop links all round , o and also track control rods!! all was not easy top strut bolts were a ass hole and things were a bit fidly however now weve found after goin to get it tracked that the drivers side piece of the steering rack that connects to the track control rod is bent in a bad way thus causing vibration , and poor tracking even though its tracked up perfect! just to check with anyone whos ever had this are these the kind of symtoms i should expect ??

anyway i went for the h&r cup kit along with the powerflex accentric lower arm rear bushes , ive still got the rear subframe bushes , the rear wheel bearings cam belt and tensioner to do but once this is done and ive changed the steering rack over it should be loads better!!! wat do u think and does anyone understand why it woiuld vibrate with them symtoms yes ?? please help taa ian.

nice drop, looks proper down in the weeds lol !

not sure why the steering damage could cause the vibes though, can you take a pic of the affected area ?

nice work, enjoy the rear wheel bearings, FUN fun fun !

Thats the inner tie rod, where did you get the Outer tia rod? (the silver part you call track control rod)

Karan... he HAS replaced the whole arm, including the inner ball joints... can you not see the new arm and balljoint in the pics?

Andrew... Tie-rods you can get from GSF.

Ian, not sure the bent steering rack would cause the vibration. Only thing I can think of is an out-of-balance wheel or an incorrecty fitted lower bush.

It never helps when people have different names for the same thing,
Going back to the pic.... i would call the black bit the track rod, and the bit with the thread and the balljoint... the track rod end winkeye

You usually get a bend in the track rod if the tracking has not been done for a while and you need to heat it up because it has seized. Where it twist's that's when you get a bend :? Not unless it's had a whack :?

This should'nt cause vibration but will deffinately through your tracking out when driving as it will not give an accurate line for the wheel's to follow.
Also, did you change the bushes on the rear of the lower arm's? If they're not up to much cop then what will happen is when you accellerate your wheel's will through them selve's out, causing the wheel's to toe out.

Not sure if i'm right in thinking but has the car been sitting for while? As this will have caused the tyre's to have flat spot's.

Were the top mount's re-newed? This also could cause the steering to be tight if the bearing's are a bit stiff.
