M20b25 sumps e30/e34

Hi I am replacing my sump on my 325i sport due to stripped plug threads.
On ETK the sump from an E30 m20b25 has a different part number to that of the E34 m20b25 sump but can they be interchanged a quick responce would be helpful. They look the same but will it clear the steering rack the same????

yeap I think your right as the camcovers have same number and so do the dip sticks...... BUGGER

yeah, you can get oversize plugs
depends whether any of it has broken away though like my old 325 sump.

Well from what I've heard the e34 doesn't work because the m20 sump had to be different for the rack to fit infront which it still only just does.

So I will either Helicoil the sump plug or over bore the hole but that would mean taking it to a M14!!!!! which is bloody monsterous for a sump plug and might be too big to even be done. The damn helicoil kit is £40!!!!
