Hello again... And welcome BTW.
there is a small twist out bulb in the back of the unit to illuminate the buttons.

to get to the bulb, you need to remove the OBC.cortina wrote:how do you get to the bulb?how do you remove the obc?where do i get a bulb from?
to remove the obc you need to:
remove the radio
remove the switch above the radio
open the glovebox and remove the plastic cover on the right.
now get a small screwdriver into the rear of the OBC and unscrew it from the back.

You can remove the the bulb that lights the buttons by removing the side access panel in the glovebox and reaching in behind, or if you've got a small hand, through the radio hole.
It's the OBC display backlight that you have to remove the unit for.

Hmm whereabouts on the OBC is this? Is it just one bulb for the buttons? I assume the bulb is a bit like one of the instrument cluster bulbs which are easily replaceable.

Not sure if it's identical to the cluster ones, but it's very similar at least.
It projects out of the back of the OBC, just about in the centre.
