hello as title, looking for new ht leads for my 11/86 build 325i, all the leads I find online come with the pulse sensor on them. my current leads do not have this and I also can't find where it would even connect to if I got the leads with sensor on? maybe my car is supposed to have it, did all 325i come with this as standard?
just looked at the car underneath the diagnostic plug and don't see anywhere for the sensor to connect

even if I get the Bosch ht leads above do I just remove the pulse sensor?
need HT leads but with or without pulse sensor

I don’t know if this will help you but I have these if all else fails.

Interesting post - when this subject has arisen in the past, it's always been that members can only find leads without the sensor, for an engine that needs it!
The reason your engine doesn't have the sensor (an early kind of cam position sensor), is that the engine management system fitted with your engine is too primitive to require it. There's no problem in fitting the leads with the sensor, and leaving it unconnected.
Ideally, you could upgrade the loom and ECU to the later type, giving you a home for the sensor plug, and getting the advantages of the more advanced management, coupled with the higher compression ratio of the earlier engine.

Yeah I noticed that too after many hours searching forums etc! Seems all the companies that make them realised it’s better to have it either way, I ended buying a set with the sensor I will just cable it out the way I guess. As soon as I get the car running back 100% i will definitely consider the 1.3 upgrade. Is there a reasonable difference? I’m a beginner in mechanics and eléctrica so I don’t really want to bite off more than I can chewBrianmoooore wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 10:36 amInteresting post - when this subject has arisen in the past, it's always been that members can only find leads without the sensor, for an engine that needs it!

That's what I am trying to do but I start with a low compression 6E already with Motronic 1.3. I'm trying to find out if there are any engine differences other than the piston crownBrianmoooore wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2019 10:36 amgetting the advantages of the more advanced management, coupled with the higher compression ratio of the earlier engine.
Very good write-up in the wiki about this here:

Should be all you need
