One of Player6's mates does this for a living. I'm off to see him on Saturday or Sunday to see what he can do for the E30 engine. Failing that Mirage is the place to go, but they are expensive :(

Hi lads,

An easy way to do it is by using Autoglym Machine & Engine Cleanre followed by Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care: -

First cover all critical elctrical bits with double thickness clingfilm
then apply Machin cleaner liberally
Use a radiator brush to gently agitate dirt & grime
then gently hose down
Repeat if necessary

Then spray on Vinyl & Rubber cleaner (DO NOT agitate)
Close bonnet and let the V & R dry
Open bonnet and remove clingfilm
Close bonnet job done

In real time it only takes about 15 to 20 mins and that's if you're a slacker eh :D

The engine bay WILL look like new again 8)
