They did when the car was new! 'White rust' has probably seized them, so several doses of your favourite rust releaser required.

paint starting to peel on brackets, but not to bad, lubbed up with trans fluid has good creep, used a little black grease(c.v joint type ) on the metal moving part inside underneath. you need a bright light and close inspection
to see it, there is a dipple where the mirror housing sits in when at home position works fine now.
