i would suggest

325i sport (low comp/high comp)
325i sport auto
325i se (obviously much faster than a sport!!)
318is (obviously faster than an M3)
318is is faster then an M3.... Is that true?

It's all pointless anyway, unless all the cars have similar miles, FSH from new then comparing is pointless. I've had to 325i engines in my Touring both rolling roaded, first one 135bhp, 2nd one 165bhp. Far too many variables.

Though I have to say, a 318is would p1ss all over my 325i Touring...........

But only so long as it sits there with no axle or wheels on it :D

I wonder how a 2.0ltr IS, would fair against a 325i both have similar outputs.

Dreadfully sorry. Spot of Internet sarcasm. I was hoping the rolling eyes would make this obvious :)

Once we've seen which is quickest, we could use the nearby A45 between Wellingborough and northampton to see which has the best mpg

That explains why it was so enjoyable to read.

Imo close down the Facebook e30 page and direct them straight to the zone.
