Hello,

I know boysen and ebersalpaecher is very good quality but the price is very expensive.

After a little bit search I got cheap muffler cost only 40-100eur. They said use high quality Krupp thiessen aluminum steel to repel rust.

I believe this can at least 8 year life in my country climate.

But does this cheap exhaust will have same sound compare to expensive boysen?

I limited my choice to only aluminum steel and avoid stainless steel.

Any advice or experience here?

Thank you
Markus

I put a cheap centre section and backbox on my 320, similar cost as you say, I think it was also made of Krupp Thiessen material. It does sound different. It sounds more tinny. The back box was much smaller than the original.

I suspect the 'aluminium steel' is actually mainly cheap mild steel with an electrolytic thin coat of aluminium-based paint to give it a nice shiny silver finish - for a short while.

I doubt it will last 8 years, but you never know...

Here in the UK, we often get Klarius exhaust parts, which are I gather Walker/Boysen.

Klarius are what was Timax, not Walker. For lack of a better descriptive term, they're sh!te. :)

Yes, that's the one. I've fitted a couple of Klarius parts from Euros to mine (front downpipe section on a Fiat) and someone else's car (back box on a Peugeot), and both fitted perfectly and appeared to be of reasonable quality, so I wouldn't necessarily agree with your description of them.

After fitting one to my old E36 that sounded cr@p and lasted about 1 day outside of it's 2 year warranty I would beg to differ. :(

You get what you pay for. The original lasted 15 years.

Indeed, they may not be up to OEM standard of long-term durability, but for an affordable replacement, they are pretty good I'd say.

+1 klarius never again, bought a full system and after two years back box decided to go on its own and separated from the rest of the system and ofcourse it was with the help from its friend rust

Cheap is what cheap does, this is why it is always cheaper to buy expensive parts because you buy them once!

I go to buy 323i middle exhaust because it is cheaper than 325i but I don't know the performance, but al least it is eberspaecher brand.

And for rear exhaust I think will have choice between ta technix and Bosal, any advice?
