If its a normal E30 then you can probably put your arm through the rust hole in the inner arches to get into the boot. :D

Unless the boot lock is in the horizontal, fully to the right, position, where it can only have been put with a key, the boot should be able to be opened by simply pushing the button after operating the central locking.
Can we have the full story behind this, please?

IF the car is a saloon, remove the rear seat cushions and you will find an almost cut out 'ski hatch' blanking panel in the middle of the seat back.
Use a small chisel and hammer to cut through the small remaining pieces of metal, remove the panel, and then you will be faced with rear section of the boot liner.
Pushing on this will push it off its fixing clips, and then you will be able to see into the boot.
If you still need to open the boot, push a child through the hole, armed with a 10mm spanner, and refuse to let him back out until he has unscrewed the bolts holding the lock.

I think that this car is a cabriolet.

Probably the easiest way is to break a rear light.

Pleanty of spares available from the wanted section on here.
